Overview

A grants program brand that encompasses community, happiness, approachability, and prestige.

Jobber Grants is an initiative within Jobber that happens yearly, where Jobber gives 25 grants to home service business applicants.

For the 2023 the Jobber Grants team wanted an updated brand style. After a discovery meeting with the project team key themes were brought to light, a feeling of approachability, prestige, with the Jobber personality thrown in.

Ultimately a sub-brand of Jobber, the new branding needed to feel at home within Jobber, as the potential for first brand contact from new audiences is high with Jobber Grants.

Branding

01

Branding - Duotone Photos

Photos were treated as a staple in the brand, showcasing the community aspect of what these service providers do every day. Utilizing organic cropping so as not to feel like headshots, the photos are able to give off a natural feeling as opposed to specifically shot. Usage of varying duotone was used to ensure photos felt on the same level, with black and white duotone used as a primary focal point on some key photos.

Branding - White Noise Gradients

To give off that slight prestigious feeling, gradients on top of white noise texture was used to elevate the design. The purpose of these elements are to portray a feeling similar to that of an awards show.

This also acted as a texture to bridge the gap between the Jobber brand, and Jobber Grants.

Branding - Geometric blocks

Design layouts were treated as a mosaic grid of geometric blocks. This allowed for ease of laying out photos and content, while giving Jobber Grants a modern look and feel.

It was important for designs to not just feel blocky, and instead have shapes within larger shapes for a look that looked balance and flowed from top to bottom.
